General

Please take note of the following when training in the club:

  • Please report any machines/equipment that are not functioning properly.
  • Please ask for assistance if you are unsure how to work any of the equipment.
  • We have qualified instructors to show you correct techniques, please ask for a demonstration.
  • Ensure you are wearing proper training footwear.
  • If you are feeling faint whilst training, please stop and rest, let our staff assess and advise you.
  • Please take note and be aware of the environment, look out for treadmills still running and obstacles on the training floor.
  • Please read and adhere to the club rules and regulations displayed in the club.

Indemnity

I agree and acknowledge that PH Soneike (Pty) Ltd, its subsidiary(s), affiliate(s), directors, employees, contractors, independent consultants (hereinafter PH Soneike (Pty) Ltd) will not be liable for death, injury, loss or damage suffered by me and/or any member(s) through or contributed to by any cause whatsoever including but not limited to any gross negligent acts or omissions or breach of contract on the part of Perfect Health Soneike or other member(s). Perfect Health I agree and acknowledge that I enter upon and exit the premises (inclusive of the parking areas) and use the equipment and facilities entirely at my own risk. In addition, I agree, that PH Soneike (Pty) Ltd shall not be vicariously liable for any loss or damage suffered by me and/or other member(s) as a result of theft on the part of its employees, independent contractors, consultants or any other member(s).

 

I and/or my estate hereby indemnify PH Soneike (Pty) Ltd against any claim by any person arising directly or indirectly from my death, injury, loss or damage suffered by a member, caused or contributed to by an act or omission by PH Soneike (Pty) Ltd or any of its member(s). The terms of this notice are severable from each other.

Training Floor

Please take note of the following with regards to Club Rules whilst on the Training Floor:

  • No dropping of weights allowed.
  • No slops allowed.
  • Sweat towels are compulsory and to be used at all times.
  • No members under the age of 13 allowed on the training floor.
  • Please wipe down equipment after use.
  • Replace weights after use.
  • Proper gym attire to be worn at all times.
  • No bags allowed on the floor.

Cardio

Please take note of the following with regards to Club Rules whilst in the Cardio area:

 

  • No weights allowed on the cardio floor.
  • No slops allowed.
  • Sweat towels are compulsory and to be used at all times.
  • Members between the ages of 10 and 13 must have adult supervision.
  • No kids under the age of 10 allowed on the cardio equipment.
  • Please wipe down equipment after use. Proper gym attire to worn at all times.
  • No bags allowed on the floor. • Please adhere to the 20 min time limit on equipment.
  • Do not leave treadmills running after use.

Rules & Regulations

GYM ACCESS: No member will gain access to the gym facility without the use of the access control system that the entity may choose to use. Positive identification must be provided when access to the facilities is not possible through the normal access control mechanism that the entity may be using at the time. Members with any outstanding fees will be denied access to the gym, therefor all fees should be paid up to date. Adults must accompany children and junior members under the age of 16. Children should be admitted to the childcare facility whilst parents are training.

CONDUCT: Members and their guest must conduct themselves in a well-mannered fashion on the gym’s premises and must respect the guidance of the staff at the gym. If an individual’s behavior is unacceptable towards fellow members or gym rules, your membership may be revoked without repayment of fees and he/she will be removed from the gym premises. Any member may be expelled /suspended by the entity for violation of any rule or regulation of the entity. If the entity’s management reasonably believes the member is personal training without the entity’s authorization both the member who is personal training and the member who is being trained may be expelled/suspended. A member expelled/suspended shall forfeit all privileges of membership.

DRESS CODE AND PERSONAL HYGIENE: In all the exercise areas, athletics shoes are required. No shoes with black soles are permitted in the aerobic studios. Tracksuits, shorts and T-shirts are examples of training wear required on the floor and classes. No topless training is allowed. A sweat towel must be used to wipe equipment, as a courtesy to other members. In all wet areas, like saunas and steam rooms, a towel and shower shoes or sandals are recommended.

PERSONAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS: Free body assessments will be offered to all members for the duration of their memberships, but members should consult their physician before starting an exercise program, as our staff is not trained to diagnose or identify illness. Facilities should be used in accordance to all public health requirements. Members are requested not to use the facilities with any medical conditions such as open cuts, abrasions, sores, infections or inability to maintain a reasonable level of personal hygiene, as these conditions pose a direct threat to fellow members. Do not train while using any form of medication without consulting your doctor first.

SAUNAS, STEAM ROOMS & SHOWERS: No oils and creams and shaving are allowed in the sauna or steam rooms. Members must rap a towel around them when using the sauna or steam rooms. No children under age of 16 may use the sauna or steam rooms. Showers are to be taken before and after the use of the sauna and steam rooms for personal hygiene purpose. No running, racing, eating, drinking, or personal grooming in the steam room and sauna. Members who suffer from high blood pressure or heart problems must not use the sauna or steam rooms.

LOCKER ROOMS AND LOST PROPERTY: Do not leave your personal property in the lockers as the locks will be removed and content will be placed in lost and found. If items are not collected within 14days it will be donated to charity. Do not bring any valuables into the gym for the gym or staff will not be held responsible for any valuables that are lost. Personal items must be locked up inside the lockers provided, by using your own lock. The gym does not take responsibility for any items that are left at reception or any other desk.

SPINNING CLASSES: Warm-up and cool down before and after each class is essential to avoid injury. Therefore, all members should be on time for the start of the class. No member will be allowed to enter a class 5 minutes after the class has started. Let the instructor help you to set your bike for a suitable level to avoid injury. Wait till the cool down and stretching has been completed before leaving the class. The use of a towel is compulsory. Bring a water bottle and wear flat hard-soled shoes to support your feet.

GROUP TRAINING: Warm-up and cool down before and after each class is essential to avoid injury. Therefore, all members should be on time for the start of the class. No member will be allowed to enter a class 5 minutes after the class has started. Various types of group training are available at the club. Information is available at reception and notice boards. Schedules and/or instructors are subject to change without any prior notice. Check notice board for changes or new information on class changes or new additions. Schedules may be changed due to public holidays. No person under the age of 16 is allowed to join the classes.

SWEAT TOWELS: Members must use a sweat towel at all times while exercising. Members must wipe down equipment directly after use.

CHILDREN AND JUNIOR MEMBERS: For gym purposes a child is deemed to be 12 and younger and is not allowed to train. Childcare facilities are available and may only be used by children 12 and younger. Members making use of the childcare facility must abide by the entity’s rules pertaining to childcare. Members can have their children gain free access to the gym. A junior member is between 12 and 18. Junior members 13 to 15 must be supervised by an adult. All junior members who turn 18 years will need to take out their own membership.

EXERCISE EQUIPMENT: Please follow the instructions or ask for assistance if you are not sure how to use the equipment. We have the right to limit your use of our equipment to ensure the equitable use of all the members and guests. Do not move the equipment in any manner. No equipment may be used in any manner that it is not intended for.

CARDIO SECTION: For instruction on how to use any equipment, please ask fitness instructors for assistance. Maximum of 20 minutes are allowed on the cardio equipment during peak times. No bags should be left on the floor. Please use the lockers that are provided. Sweat towels are compulsory to wipe equipment after use.

WEIGHT SECTION: Please replace the weights after use. Do not drop weights. Training shoes should be worn at all times. Children under the age of 16 not permitted in the free weight section. Sweat towels are compulsory to wipe equipment after use.

CIRCUIT SECTION: Please respect the circuit rules and lights when training on the super circuit. No bags allowed on the gym floor. Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the super circuit. Sweat towels are compulsory to wipe equipment after use.

MISCELLANEOUS: Damage to the entity’s property will be paid for by any member who willfully or neglectfully caused such damage. Smoking and alcohol are not permitted in the gym or the immediate surroundings. The illegal use of drugs, including steroids is strictly prohibited. No firearms are permitted in the gym. The entity reserves the right to amend these rules and regulations from time to time and members and/or occupants of the gym should always familiarize themselves with the rules and regulations currently in force.
